Financial aid!

During these times it is wise to watch on your budget. Balance your incoming and outgoing money stream. You can buy several tools for that, or make an spreadsheet. The downside of tool is, if the support stops you have to export / import all your data to a new tool. With spreadsheets you don’t have that problem. Below are some great free worksheets:

Good luck getting your budget on track!

Office Lens

It may look a little Microsoft fan site, but i have found out a great app to accompany OneNote. It is called Office Lens. With it you can take pictures from white boards or documents with your phone . Well that is nothing special right? Wait there is more…! After taking a picture you can edit it to make it more readable. The photos then can be used in OneNote. Perfect if you follow a training or classes.

OneNote 2013

Something really cool that i like to share with all of you. Microsoft made OneNote free for Windows and Mac OS X. OneNote is a great tool to collaborate, make notes and mindmaps. I really like the tool and use it a lot at work. It’s perfect for making and ordering notes. Don’t forget the handy search feature and OneDrive sync. That way you can sync your notes with your Android or iPhone device. Great for your shopping list ;-) .

A long story short, you can download it for free from OneNote.com.

PS: If you are a developer, you might find the API interesting to use in your App.

Secunia Personal Software Inspector

Secunia Personal Software Inspector can be used to scan all the installed applications on the PC to determine which programs are missing security patches/updates.

The tool works by by examining files on your computer (primarily .exe, .dll, and .ocx files) for meta information on specific software builds installed. After examining all the files on the machine, the collected data is sent to Secunia’s servers and matched against the Secunia File Signatures engine determine the exact applications installed on your system.

It can be used to flag insecure/end-of-life software and find direct download links to missing security updates.

It monitors more than 4,200 desktop applications! Did I mention that it is free?

You can download it at psi.secunia.com!
